Hi, I’m Julia.

I’m a Halifax, Nova Scotia based travel enthusiast.   

Before I travel, I like to do as much research as possible. I spend a lot of hours scouring travel websites. Then it’s on to creating pinboards, documents and maps to organize it all. I love hunting for unexpected gems & local favourites that might not show up on first search. Every trip is an opportunity to have a unique adventure. I read a lot lists of “Top 10 things to do in X city”. Yes, these will get you to the big attractions, but I always want to know where the coziest coffee shop is & the best designed restaurant. I over plan and then I let the trip take the course it’s going to take.

I currently do most of my travel with my husband, Jonathan.  For a souvenir, we buy a piece of art everywhere we go. 

My educational background is in fashion and costuming.   I love the exploration of personal style in my wardrobe, my home and my entire life.  I want my particular world to be well designed and I see it as a mix of form & function, new & old, and high end & affordable. 

This blog will be a record of the places & experiences I loved. It’s the list I would give to a friend if they asked for recommendations.
